Purpose: To introduce child to water and train parent in water safety.
Requirements: Ages 6 mo. and Up. Parent must accompany child in the water. Children must wear swim diaper.
Description: Water exploration. Floating on front and back. Front and back glides. Using a lifejacket. Arm and leg action on front and back. Exiting and entering the pool using side or stairs unassisted.

Purpose: To gain confidence First aquatic experience without a parent/guardian.
Requirements: Ages 4yrs -6yrs. This is not a pass/fail class. Students must be potty-trained and ready for group learning to be in this class.
Description: The skills learned in this level are comparable to Parent and Child Aquatics B (advanced water tots).

Purpose: To help students feel comfortable in the water.
Requirements: 4 years -8 years.
Description: Buoyancy and breath control/supported floating and kicking on front and back. Introduction to front crawl arms. How to get help in an emergency. Reaching assists without equipment. Fundamentals of using a life jacket.

Purpose: To give students success with fundamental skills.
Requirements: 4 years- 8 years. Successful completion of level one or can complete exit skill requirements for level one.
Description: Floating and kicking on front and back-5sec. Rhythmic breathing/combined stroke on front and back-5yds. Turning over front to back and back to front. Treading water using arm and leg actions. Introduction to sidestroke. Recognize swimmer in distress and how to help.

Purpose: To build on the skills in level two with additional guided practice
Requirements: 5 years - 10 years. Successful completion of level two or can complete exit skill requirements for level two.
Description: Introduction of rotary breathing. Introduction to butterfly kick and body motion. Front and back glide using flutter and butterfly kick. Tread water. Front and back crawl. Head first entry standing or kneeling. HELP and huddle positions using a life jacket.

Purpose: To develop confidence in the strokes learned and improve other aquatic skills.
Requirements: min. 5 years - 10 years. Successful completion of level three or can complete exit skill requirements for level three.
Description: Diving from standing or compact position. Open turn on front and back, push off into streamlined position. Tread water using specific arm and leg actions. Swim front crawl, back crawl, and sidestroke. Introduce butterfly arm action, combine with leg and body action. Introduce breaststroke and elementary backstroke. Personal water safety skills, helping others in and around water.

Purpose: Provide further coordination and refinement of strokes.
Requirements: 8-12 years old. Successful completion of level four or can complete exit skill requirements for level four.
Description: Shallow dive in deep water, glide underwater two body lengths. Flip turn while swimming on front and back. Refine swim strokes: front crawl, back crawl, sidestroke, butterfly, breaststroke and elementary backstroke. Tread water using scissor kick and egg beater kick.
